A desire to explore nature has alway been there. When photographing, there is an iterative process where each image helps inform me what is missing from the story or not really part of it.
The act of photographing leads me to better see and understand more thoroughly what is around me in a way that I would not experience if I were just out for a hike.
Black and white interpretations highlight the richness and interplay of pure form and texture which can be lost in the presence of colour, which can very often overpower all other forms of visual stimulous
The use of monochrome imagery allows a wider acceptable range of adjustment, while maintaining belief in the image as a true photograph, becoming just that little bit more abstract and giving more space for the imagination.
